VoxFonts Development Kit & Programming Sample Version 3.00 Contents: Our VoxFonts Software Development Kit (SDK) lets you add text-to- speech capabilities to your MS Windows and MS DOS applications. The VXFSDK.ZIP file contains sample programs that use the VoxFonts conversion libraries and DLLs. These programs were created using Visual Basic and Microsoft C version 8.0, and demonstrates usage under both Windows and DOS. The sample programs performs a simple text-to-speech conversion. The MSCTst directory contains a sample MS Windows and DOS program, "FntTst.c". To build both the Windows and DOS versions, run the batch file "MakeMe.bat". The associated makefile assumes that Microsoft C 8.0 tools are installed and accessible. The VxFLib directory contains the "C" header and library files for various conversion. The libraries are named PPPMMM.Lib to designate the formats. PPP = DLG for Dialogic. MMM = MME for Microsoft Medium memory model with floating point emulator, MMM = MLE for Microsoft Large memory model with floating point emulator, and MWE for Microsoft Windows model with floating point emulator. The MVBTst directory contains a sample MS Windows Visual Basic project, "FntTst.Mak". The ROOT directory contains the font libraries and DLLs necessary for the MS DOS and MS Windows 3.1 executable versions. The demo versions of these programs (*.exe, *.dll) are limited to 100 words of text per execution. To Run: 1) Unzip the file VXFSDK.ZIP to extract each floppy image: PKUNZIP VXFSDK.ZIP 2) Unzip the disk images to floppy using the create directory option: PKUNZIP -d VXF001.ZIP a: PKUNZIP -d VXF002.ZIP a: 3) Insert the first floppy and change to the drive. 4) Run the "Install.Exe" installation program. Three subdirectories will be created - MSCTST, MVBTST and VXFLIB. 2) Run the sample programs MLETst.Exe (DOS - Microsoft Large Emulator) and MWETst.Exe (Windows - Microsoft Windows Emulator) To Build Microsoft C FntTst.c: 1) Unzip the file VXFSDK.ZIP as described above. 2) Make sure the Microsoft C 8.0 tools are installed and accessible. 3) Run the batch file MakeMe.bat to build both MS Windows and MS DOS versions of the sample program. To Build Microsoft Visual Basic FntTst.Mak: 1) Unzip the file VXFSDK.ZIP as described above. 2) Make sure Microsoft Visual Basic 3.0 or above is installed and accessible. 3) Use File... Open Project to open "MVBTst\FntTst.Mak".
