The following sections
explain how to configure your Dialogic Board for use with the Multimedia Wave Telephony
Application Programming Interface (TAPI) drivers.
Although every effort has been made to insure that this information is accurate and complete, the official source for Dialogic Driver installation, is of course, the Dialogic Corporation. Please contact them if you have additional questions regarding this procedure.
Step 1: TAPI Driver Installation

This installs the Dialogic Native Mode drivers that allow the hardware to communicate with the Windows Multimedia System.
Step 2: Multimedia Driver Installation Install the Windows Multimedia Drivers that allow VFEdit to communicate with the hardware.

From the "Control Panel" select the "Multimedia" icon.
Select
the "Devices" tab and then "Audio Devices." Then click on the
"Add" button.
Select
the "Unlisted or Updated Driver" option and click on the "OK" button
When you are propmted to enter
the location of the driver "Browse" to the Dialogic directory. (Note: depending
on the version of Dialogic driver you are using the main directory may be called either
DLGCDEV or DIALOGIC.
Select the
"Dialogic WAVE Driver 1.X" and click the "OK" button. Once the
driver is installed you may be asked to reboot you system.
Step 3: Configure the Dialogic Board
In this step you will configure your Dialogic system to activate automatically when you boot up.
Start the Dialogic Configuration Manager from the Dialogic System
Software.
Select the
"Automatic" mode. (This screen may look different depending on the version of
your Dialogic software.)
The Dialogic board starts in the "On-hook" state. In order to use VFEdit to play and record through the board, you must set the board to "Off-hook". You will need to set the board to "Off-hook" every time you reboot your system.
Open the
"Multithreaded GUI Based Application" or the "Multi-Threaded Voice"
application (Located in the Dialogic Sample Application section.)
First using
the "File \ Open" menu function open the line on your Dialogic card that you
will be using to record or play files.
Then from the "Function" menu select "Off-Hook."
Your Dialogic card should now be ready for playback and recording using VFEdit.
Step 4: Selecting the Dialogic Wave Driver in VFEdit
From the VFEdit "Options \ Device Select"
menu, under "Device Type" select the appropriate Dialogic line that you will be
using to record and playback files. This should be the same one you set to
"Off-Hook" in the previous step.

This is an example of the Multimedia Properties dialog when the Dialogic hardware is properly installed and configured.
